Money HATES ME

Or at least Financial Aid does, which amounts to the same thing because I have NO IDEA how I'm going to pay for college now. I assumed that after my mother told me that she was taking care of it I could just leave her to her business & do my own. BUT NO. I'm not angry at her, directly, but I'm angry that I should have to remind my mother to do things when I myself am barely capable of remembering to take my adderal. I know, "life's not fair," & all that jazz, but still. We are a WEEK late paying the 1st bill, and she has NO IDEA what's going on with financial aid & the bill itself would've been $500 less if she had given me the insurance information when I asked her for it (or done it herself after she told me that she would) & we just got a $100 penalty for not paying on time & we'll continue to have to pay more as this continues and SHE STILL HAS NO CLUE.

I like to think of myself as laid back, but money stresses me out really quick.

IN OTHER more cheerful NEWS-

I still love my History & Sociology classes ♥
And I'm about to go to the first meeting of another of my classes, which is going to be interesting because I have no idea what it's about. Yay, surprises!

Also- I have a scanner again! YAAAAAAAAAAAY!

"Venus Man-Trap"

I'll try to post a doodle every now & then, just for funsies.

PS-
YAY COLD!

Watch this!

Ok, personally, I'm a very visual person. I've heard that it's part of being dyslexic & ADD, that it's easier for me to understand and idea if it's anchored to a something concrete.

And this just floats my boat.

It's basically this person taking classical music & putting the notes & stuff into a visual format, so that you can see the play of the scale in little colored rectangles. I don't know, just watch it.

This person has more songs on their channel, but this is the first one that I stumbled across & also one of my favorite songs.

Anyways.

FINALLY got this CD from the library. I'd been in the hundreds on the reserve list forever, I didn't think I was going to get it at all.
Anyways.

♥ LOVE IT. ♥
My favorites on the album (besides "Daylight") are: "Good Ol' Fashion Nightmare," "Lessons Learned," "Don't Slow Down," and "I'll Take Us Home."

First Day Summary

So, I hitched a ride with my friend because her 1st class is at 8 & mine started at 9, & I figured that waiting an hour wouldn't be too bad.
What I didn't figure into the equation was that we needed to be up prior to SIX IN THE MORNING, and this after having stayed up watching half of Boondock Saints (which is an awesome movie, by the way) until around ONE IN THE MORNING.
Anyways.
Up before six, leave at seven, takes an hour to get there, wait an exruciatingly slow hour until class starts, drag myself into class, and sit down with the rest of my sleep-lacking classmates. Then the prof walks in, and she says, "So, I guess none of you got my email? You guys don't have class until next week."
...
I was so angry that all I could do was stare at her for a few moments.
Now I'm normally a very peaceful person, but I tend to get more irratable with less sleep. The only thing that kept me from doing anything questionable at that moment was the fact that I was way too tired. So I plodded away to wait ANOTHER HOUR until my next class.

This is where my day picks up, thankfully.

I basically love my History class, and Sociology seems like it should be interesting (and by that I mean the prof is hilarious) so I ended the day on a happy note.

In other news.

Ok, so I've been hearing "A dingo ate my baby!" quite a bit recently, and while I find the quote hilarious, no one I asked knew where it came from.
So, being the curious creature that I am, I looked it up on google.
And it's a quote by Meryl Streep in the movie A Cry in the Dark, apparently after a dingo ran off with her baby (duh).

I hope I wasn't the only one that was bothering?

Good news!

ONE-
I have discovered Styx. I know, it took me forever, especially since my father still has one of their best-hits vinyl records & we have a perfectly good record player...
I have no excuse.
Love them, can't stop listening to them (currently on "Sweet Madame Blue"), et cetera.

TWO-
The cat formerly known as Sebastienne is actually known as Nikki/ Nicky/ [whatever]. There's this adorable old man that lives in the neighborhood, and whenever he takes his adorable old dog out for a walk, this cat follows him. It's basically one of the most adorable things I've ever seen. Anyways, what happened was this- the old man was walking on the other side of the street, and Nicky/ Sebastienne started freaking out meowing & scratching at the door.
And now they're reunited & it's happily ever after <3

And I've been craving Indian food like nobody's business. I was supposed to go to a new Indian place with my sisters yesterday, but... Well, let's just say that I'm probably one of few people who can still be hungry for curry after cleaning up vomit.

Cruellers, thou art cruel!

Well, maybe not cruel. Just delicious and made of calories ♥

One of the things on my "bucket list" is to get a hot & fresh donut from Krispy Kremes.

Anyways.

So, my mother has set out traps for cats around the neighborhood. Her plan is to catch some of the ferals/ abandoned cats that've been wondering around, get them used to people, and then find them homes. This seemed like a good idea, until we caught our first cat the other day.
We've decided that his name is Sebastienne.

Not to mention that before we caught Sebastienne we had already decided to adopt a cat from the shelter. This is Lychee.

PLUS we have just today received another dog, Lizzie. We're just keeping her until we can find a suitable home, but until then we have six animals in the house- 4 cats, 2 dogs.

We're all a little bit crazy-cat-lady, except not.
So if you want a puppy or cat, then feel free to ask us, because we will ALWAYS have an animal that needs a home.

MY HERO HERO HERO

I just love finding awesome people on deviantart and sharing them.

CLICK-eth HERE!

Her art is fantabulous and gloriastic and everything in between.

In other news.

Why is it that I kinda like Kanye's music, and then he says the most RIDICULOUS things? I mean, really. I felt so sorry for Taylor Swift last night (VMAs). How rude can you be in front of a nationalized audience? Let's find out... And Lady Gaga? CRAZY. OUTFITS. I was blown away, and I'm not even sure if that's good or bad.

Divorzio all'italiana

Divorce: Italian Style.
Funny movie :D

Makes me want to go to Italy to learn Italian- it's such a beautiful language. My nonna speaks a kind of dialect, which is hilarious because apparently Italian dialects are almost different languages in and of themselves.

Anywho.

I love fall. Love love love LOVE it. Everything about Autumn is just amazing for me.

In other news...
I've got to get a job.
Like really, really badly, I want to have something to do that I can get paid for so that I'm not bored and I'll have cash to put in the bank to burn at a later date.
Panera or Bob Evans, but my mother is sticking to her conviction that I'd get way more tips at Hooters...

awasteof-paint = my hero

"i heard repetitive barking outside my window.
my house cleaner tapped me on the shoulder
and told me, “mademoiselle, you have a visitor.
his name is distance.
he has sharp teeth.
and he’s come to ruin your life.”

GAH.

I love this person- she has AMAZING writing. Check her out!

The quote above is from her poem, "13 miles reminds me of dogs."

IT'S POURING PICTURES!

LOOK AT THOSE TIRES! What on earth are they for?!

You know you're in Georgia when...

There were SO MANY PIGGLY WIGGLYS. it was insanity.

Possibly one of the cutest couples ever.

I took so many pictures...

Evan, whose sister's bed was love.

Sami! The army-wife-to-be.

Lancito

Nutmeg

The Goliath Wall at Southern, which was our first stop.

If the foo shits...

... I don't even know how that would end.

Anyways.

So, had a cool time in Georgia with Sami & Lance. We stopped off at Southern first, so we got to see Meg & Katie & Jessica & Amanda & I can't remember if I'm forgetting anyone. Anywho, we went out for Mexican & Meg, Lance, Sami & I took a walk to the Goliath Wall, which I have pictures of that will come later. Anywho. When a female friend of Lance's showed up, us three ladies vacated the scene. On the way back, I was nearly ambushed by a starving stray kitten, meowing at me and looking adorable and pitiful and in need of loving. So of course I picked it up & took it back to campus to find a home for it or a shelter, except the shelters were closed and everybody we asked (we asked a BUNCH of people) knew what to do. So a few long HOURS later, we're just chilling on the porch of the girls dorm (after a failed atempt to take the kitten back to the park & leave it- it follwed me) some girl walks by & we're still halfheartedly trying to get rid of the3 kitten so she's like, "OMG PRINCESS!! Iknowwho'scatthisisthankssomuchkthanksbye!" AND THERE WAS MUCH REJOICING ("yaaaaay'"). We stayed the night at Lance's cousin's house, so I got to see Evan (slash David) again as well, but Andrea (slash Annie?) was away at school. On the bright side of her being gone, we got to sleep in her bed and IT IS HEAVEN IN THE FORM OF A MEMORY FOAM PAD. I left a piece of my soul sleeping in that bed. Anywho. So then we drove the rest of the way to Georgia. Sami, in her infinite wisdom, wanted to get everything that we needed to get done out of the way, so we drove to Fort Benning to get things done. Getting the visitor pass thing was easy, so then we were like, "Let's check this place out so that we know where we're going tomorrow." It turned out to be a good/ bad idea. We were lost in that place for AGES, a serisouly long time. Eventually (after almost knowing the place like the back of my our hands) we figured it out, so that we REALLY knew where we were supposed to go. In fact, we knew EXACTLY where EVERYTHING was supposed to go. We just didn't know exactly when. Anyways. Yadda Yadda, met Connor (Sami's fiance) there was lots of crying, the military is weird, et cetera.
Now I'm home, and I have a massive headache, and I'm going to bed.
